Walking Tour with Artist: Ghost in the Machine
Join artist Tim Makepeace for a guided walking tour of his exhibition *Ghost in the Machine*, during which he shares his firsthand experience as part of a cohort invited by NASA to observe the assembly of the James Webb Space Telescope—the world’s largest and most powerful space telescope—prior to its 2021 launch. Makepeace discusses how the telescope’s technological ambition, geometric elegance, and the human presence within the assembly process inspired his work, and he offers insight into his creative process and the paintings and drawings on view.
