Steve Winter — Big Cats - with Sharon Guynup
Steve Winter presents *Big Cats*, a richly illustrated retrospective featuring 170 photographs of lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards, cougars, and snow leopards. In conversation with wildlife journalist Sharon Guynup, Winter will share the stories behind his work photographing big cats in habitats ranging from Brazil’s Pantanal and Thai temples to the Himalayas.
The discussion will also explore how Winter and Guynup’s reporting and photography have supported conservation efforts. Their work includes the image of P-22, the cougar associated with Los Angeles’s wildlife crossing; documentation of tiger abuse at Thailand’s Tiger Temple; and investigations into dangerous and inhumane big-cat attractions in the United States. Winter’s photographs and reporting have contributed to public awareness, government action, and laws restricting private ownership of big cats.
