Evening for Educators: Your Voice, Your Vote
Evening for Educators: Your Voice, Your Vote is an after-hours teacher program at The Phillips Collection focused on art as a form of civic voice. Following Election Day voting, DMV educators are invited to explore how art can help students discover, shape, and express their own voices in the classroom and beyond. The evening combines museum exploration, hands-on activities, professional learning, networking, refreshments, and opportunities to learn about local education and community organizations.
Participants can experience a sample school tour from a student’s perspective, consider the relationship between art and civic engagement through interactive workshops and artmaking, and connect with fellow educators. The program also includes information about The Phillips Collection’s school and teacher resources, a one-night Gift Shop discount, complimentary beverages and light refreshments, and introductions to opportunities with the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Teaching for Change, Operation Understanding DC, and KID Museum.
