FLOW

FLOW is a photographic series by Baltimore-based visual storyteller Rachel A. Sale, presented at The LINE DC in partnership with Transformer. The exhibition focuses on women who practice resilience as an everyday, embodied experience. Using yoga as a visual language, the photographs portray strength, vulnerability, grounding, healing, and self-definition rather than performance.

The subjects appear in dynamic, unapologetic poses, occupying space with intention. Their accompanying reflections describe how yoga helps them navigate adversity, reclaim agency, and maintain inner balance in an unpredictable world. Originally created as a series of calendars and shared widely during the Women’s March in Washington, D.C., FLOW connects personal ritual with collective empowerment. Each portrait also functions as a testimony, presenting resilience not as freedom from struggle but as the decision to remain present through it.

Additional Event: An exhibition Pride celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on the rooftop at The LINE. It includes light bites, wine, and a cash bar.

Artist Background: Sale is a Baltimore-based visual storyteller whose work spans commercial production and humanitarian documentary. Over two decades, she has photographed human stories across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and other regions, creating visual narratives for mission-driven organizations and brands.
