Lucy Bedroque
Lucy Bedroque brings their surreal, self-produced blend of digicore and hardcore hip-hop to 9:30 Club. The project is the work of Los Angeles artist Jeremiah Mark, who performs under the name Lucy Bedroque and uses they/he pronouns. Their debut deadAir Records album, *Unmusique*, is a 17-track burst of underground electronic rap and hardcore energy that followed an earlier cult following as Lostrushi, the name behind the album *Sisterhood*.
Mark’s music combines aggressive rage with the eclectic textures and sensitivity associated with Stereolab, Radiohead, and Deftones. Their multimedia world also includes invented language and imagery, including “Glutmother,” a concept connected to the cover art and packaging of *Unmusique* and to ideas about excess, creation, identity, and perfectionism. The production includes contributions from underground figures such as SKAI, known for work with Ken Carson and Osamason, and Cranes, associated with xaviersobased and Nettspend. pinponpanpon is also scheduled to appear.
