Substrate: Shed

Substrate presents Shed, the Berlin-based techno artist René Pawlowitz, for a late-night performance at Transmission. Known for combining forceful dance-floor rhythms with intricate melodies, harmonic detail, and atmospheric arrangements, Shed is recognized for both his DJ sets and powerful live shows.

Pawlowitz first became interested in electronic music in the early 1990s. After moving to Berlin, he founded Soloaction Records with support from the record store Hard Wax. His releases include the 2004 EP “Red Planet Express” and the 2008 album “Shedding the Past,” which Resident Advisor named Album of the Year. He has also released music through Ostgut Ton and Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons imprint, as well as under aliases including Head High and The Higher.
