Virginia Opera: Turandot

Virginia Opera presents Giacomo Puccini’s *Turandot*, a legendary tale of a cold-hearted princess and the fearless suitor who dares to solve her three deadly riddles. Set in a kingdom ruled by fear, Princess Turandot has sworn never to marry, beheading every man who fails her impossible challenges. When the mysterious Prince Calaf arrives, he not only succeeds but then must win her heart in a battle of wills that could end in passion or destruction. This production blends high-stakes drama, breathtaking spectacle, and one of opera’s most famous scores, including “Nessun dorma.” The performance is sung in Italian with English captions and surtitles projected above the stage.

When: Saturday, March 20, 2027, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 21, 2027, at 2:00 p.m.

Showtimes: Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets: $115, $75, and $45 (prices include fees). Half-price tickets are available for youth through grade 12.
