Garrick Ohlsson, a pianist celebrated worldwide for his technical command and deeply expressive interpretations, returns to The Clarice for a solo recital on Sunday afternoon. Known especially for his powerful performances of Romantic repertoire, Ohlsson follows his Fall 2026 Clarice Presents debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra by presenting a program that pairs Beethoven’s lush piano sonatas with Chopin’s exquisite piano literature, alongside a newly composed work by Syrian-American-Canadian composer Kareem Roustom. The recital takes place in the intimate Gildenhorn Recital Hall as part of the Clarice Presents series.

The program features Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 11, Op. 22, and Piano Sonata No. 14, Op. 27, No. 2, followed by a new work by Roustom. The second half highlights Chopin with selections from the Barcarolle, Op. 60, as well as the Fantasy, Op. 49, and Scherzo, Op. 39.
