Beverly Ress
Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art presents a solo exhibition of work by Maryland-based artist Beverly Ress at its Tephra ICA at Signature satellite gallery. The exhibition brings together Ress's carefully-observed representational drawings, which have earned her national recognition and multiple major grants. The display will run for several months at the Signature apartment building's dedicated art space.
When: October 15, 2026 through February 13, 2027.

Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Admission: Free and open to the public.
Exhibition: A solo presentation showcasing the work of Beverly Ress, whose practice centers on meticulously observed representational drawing.
Artist background: Ress earned an AB in Fine Arts from Earlham College and an MFA in Sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her drawings have appeared in solo exhibitions at the Katzen Museum in Washington, DC, the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University, and the Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn. Her work has been included in national invitational drawing shows at the Weatherspoon Art Museum and the Arkansas Arts Center. She has received five Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council, a Pollock-Krasner Grant, a United States Artists project grant, and was a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center. In 2024 her drawings were featured in *New American Painting*. She lives and works in Silver Spring, Maryland.
