Fall Choral Showcase: UMD Chamber Singers & University Chorale

On Sunday evening, November 22, 2026, the University of Maryland’s two vocal ensembles—the UMD Chamber Singers and the University Chorale—join forces for a Fall Choral Showcase at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. The program promises an eclectic mix of old and new, classical and contemporary choral works, with the specific repertoire announced closer to the concert date. The performance highlights the breadth of UMD’s choral activities, which are led by choral conducting alumnus Jason Max Ferdinand, D.M.A. ’15.

The UMD choral program is internationally regarded, and the Concert Choir has collaborated with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at prestigious venues including the Music Center at Strathmore, Carnegie Hall, and Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This showcase offers an evening of vocal music in the intimate setting of the Dekelboum Concert Hall, with reserved seating available for all attendees.
