Coco Live-to-Film Concert
Disney Pixar's Coco Live-to-Film Concert brings a complete screening of the animated film to Strathmore with live orchestral accompaniment, landing appropriately on Día de los Muertos weekend. The performance is part of the North American tour and features the 20-member Orquesta Folclórica Nacional de México playing Michael Giacchino's Oscar- and Grammy-winning score live in sync with the movie. Alongside Giacchino's original music, the concert includes the Academy Award-winning song “Remember Me” by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus additional songs co-written by Germaine Franco and co-director and screenwriter Adrian Molina, with the film's original voice of Miguel, Anthony Gonzalez, helping carry audiences into the colorful Land of the Dead.
The film follows Miguel, a boy who dreams of becoming a musician despite his family's generations-old ban on music. After a mysterious chain of events, he finds himself in the vibrant Land of the Dead, where he meets the charming trickster Héctor and uncovers the real story behind his family history. Directed by Lee Unkrich, co-directed by Adrian Molina, and produced by Darla K. Anderson, Coco is presented at Strathmore as part of the venue's Windows series of performances and accompanying programs.
