Chúpame El Dedo / Abismo Ónix
Chúpame El Dedo and Abismo Ónix share an evening of genre-bending Latin music and extreme metal at Rhizome DC. Presented by Secret Planet, the show brings together a Colombian duo whose surreal, high-intensity performances collide tropical rhythms with grindcore, metal, and gabber-like electronics, alongside a Richmond band that fuses bachata with heavy music.
Chúpame El Dedo features The Meridian Brothers’ Eblis Álvarez and Ondatrópica’s Pedro Ojeda. Their theatrical set combines distorted vocals, guttural metal aggression, headbanging energy, and dance-floor movement, drawing on salsa, cumbia, currulao, reggaeton, traditional Colombian music, and electronic intensity. The duo performs in striking satanic robes, with one member handling machines and the other playing drums, creating a deliberately feverish and comic musical experience rooted in Bogotá’s collision of tropical dance culture and extreme rock.
Abismo Ónix is a bachata-metal group from Richmond, Virginia, founded by Andrés Bass in 2022. The band’s approach is shaped by bachata, Aventura’s genre-crossing style, Jinjer’s shifts between melodic and heavy passages, and Infant Annihilator’s range of vocal techniques. The live lineup includes Andrés Bass on vocals, Moises Carrillo on drums and bongos, Alfonso Santos on guitar, and Ramm Iyer on bass.
