David Goodfriend • Skip Casale
David Goodfriend and Skip Casale share an evening of original music and spontaneous blues at Hank Dietle’s Tavern. Goodfriend performs selected songs from his long musical history alongside original material that was never recorded or performed with his band, while Casale brings an instinctive, improvisational approach shaped by his late-in-life commitment to playing the blues.
Goodfriend has performed with Goin’ Goin’ Gone for more than 40 years and previously played as part of the Beverly Brothers with Russ Beeker, including a residency at Kramerbooks that lasted more than a decade. Casale, who has played both drums and guitar, describes his music as a conversation in the moment—an open, intuitive process available to anyone willing to begin.
