Tregaron Unplugged

Tregaron Unplugged is an outdoor afternoon of music, movement, and discovery presented by Washington Performing Arts and Tregaron Conservancy. Visitors can choose their own route through Tregaron’s terraces, lawns, meadows, and pathways, encountering jazz, Hindustani music, acoustic songwriting, West African drumming and dance, yoga, a sound bath, and an immersive site-specific soundwalk.

The event also includes local vendors and community partners offering food, goods, and opportunities to connect with organizations from across the region. It celebrates Tregaron Conservancy’s 20th anniversary and Washington Performing Arts’ 60th anniversary, highlighting the organizations’ shared belief in bringing the arts into places where people gather and connect.

Venue: Tregaron Conservancy

Format: Outdoor, self-directed programming distributed across the conservancy’s terraces, lawns, meadows, and pathways.

Shipman Terrace: Johnny Walker and his quartet perform jazz from 1:00–3:00 p.m. in an intimate setting surrounded by the gardens and landscape.

South Lawn: Flutist Deepak Ram presents Hindustani music from 1:00–3:00 p.m.

KVT Entrance / Klinge Stream Wall: Chromic Duo presents *Shimmers in the Field*, a GPS-enabled soundwalk combining storytelling with toy-piano sounds. Inspired by the serenity of Tregaron Conservancy, the work explores connection, wonder, and legacy. It launches at this event and remains available throughout fall 2026; download instructions are expected in October 2026.

East Meadow: Washington, D.C.-based singer-songwriter Sadie Kane performs acoustic music from 1:00–1:30 p.m. Her pop-influenced, confessional songwriting addresses queer love, nostalgia, and introspection, shaped by her dynamic vocals and Oklahoma roots.

East Meadow: Dante Bank leads an outdoor yoga and sound bath from 1:30–3:00 p.m., combining movement, sound, and stillness in a setting surrounded by Tregaron’s landscape.

North Meadow: Ni Dembaya leads an interactive West African drumming and dance experience from 1:00–3:00 p.m. Audiences are invited to listen, learn, dance, and participate in the rhythms. The activity is intended for people of all ages.

Food and community partners: Local vendors and community organizations will be present throughout the grounds with food, goods, and opportunities for connection.
