Jeff Surak / Private Collector / Slacking
Jeff Surak, Private Collector, and Slacking share an evening of experimental noise and unconventional sound at Rhizome DC. Surak, a longtime figure in the experimental music community and curator of the Sonic Circuits Festival, creates nonlinear sonic narratives with lo-fi techniques and archaic technologies.
Private Collector is the noise project of James, a musician from West Virginia. Slacking is the project of Jim, a noise musician from Pittsburgh. James and Jim are touring together, presenting their noise performances with an upbeat spirit. Surak’s recent festival appearances include Sofia Underground, Geiger Fest, Blurred Edges, Klanghaus, Jauna Muzika, Untergrün, Experimentik, Ende Tymes, and Brutal Assault.
