Big Special

Big Special is the duo of Joe Hicklin and Callum Moloney, whose music combines cathartic intensity, existential reflection, and unflinching poetry. Their acclaimed debut album, *Postindustrial Hometown Blues*, grew from Hicklin’s voice memos, drum patterns, and handwritten couplets into a collection of anthems about struggle, darkness, and honesty.

The event follows the pair’s rapid ascent from their first headlining performance at London’s Dublin Castle on August 9, 2023, when they had released only “Shithouse,” to a major headline show at the O2 Forum Kentish Town roughly 20 months later, attended by approximately 2,300 people.
