Introduction to Screenprinting on Fabric
Introduction to Screenprinting on Fabric is a hands-on beginner workshop focused on printing artwork onto fabric. Participants will learn how to locate equipment and materials, prepare personal artwork, explore different artistic screenprinting techniques, heat-set printed designs, and care for finished fabric pieces. No previous experience is required, and guidance for sourcing or creating images is provided after registration.
The workshop is taught by Josh Kery, an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans screenprinting, textiles, and code. His background includes Fine Arts and Human-Computer Interaction, and his exhibition and performance history includes the Frame Gallery in Pittsburgh, MuseumLab, the Fabric Workshop and Museum, the Pennsylvania Center for Women in Politics, and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Process Series. He earned a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2020 and works in Washington, DC, as a freelance designer, developer, and content manager.
