Clay and Community

Clay and Community is a ceramics exhibition hosted by Scope Gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, timed to mark a return to connection after the summer season. The show focuses on the relationships that sustain the ceramic arts, including bonds between artists and mentors, students and teachers, and makers and collectors. It features group works, collaborative projects, and shared studio practices, emphasizing the social nature of ceramics—from passing along techniques and sharing kilns to the collective experience of opening a kiln after a firing. The exhibition invites visitors to consider how clay brings people together and reminds viewers that although each piece is made by individual hands, ceramic art flourishes through conversation and shared experience. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with Art Safari and in partnership with the Ceramic Guild.
