The Secret Garden, a Tony Award-winning musical by Lucy Simon and Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman, comes to Signature Theatre in a new production shaped for its intimate Arlington stage. Adapted from Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic Victorian novel, the story follows eleven-year-old Mary, who after losing her parents is sent to live with a wealthy, reclusive uncle on the wild hills of England's moors. As she explores the manor, she uncovers family secrets, haunted inhabitants, and a dormant garden whose revival transforms the entire household. With a radiant score that includes songs like "Lily's Eyes," "Come to My Garden," and "How Could I Ever Know," this life-affirming musical celebrates how seasons of loss can bloom into joy.
