Sugar
Sugar, the legendary alt-rock trio fronted by Bob Mould, brings their Love You Even Still World Tour to The Anthem on October 14, 2026, with support from J. Robbins (of Jawbox). This concert marks a rare reunion of the original Sugar lineup—Bob Mould (guitar/vocals), David Barbe (bass), and Malcolm Travis (drums)—who reconvened in 2025 for their first new recordings in over three decades. The band’s debut album *Copper Blue* (1992) was named NME’s Album of the Year, and their career includes the hard-hitting mini-album *Beaster* (1993) and the ambitious *File Under: Easy Listening* (1994). Since reuniting, Sugar has released three new singles and sold out initial shows in New York and London; this stop in Washington, D.C. is part of a global tour that includes sold-out dates and festival appearances. The evening’s opener, J. Robbins, is a veteran of Government Issue and Jawbox, a prolific producer/engineer at his Baltimore studio the Magpie Cage, and a solo artist whose recent records *Un-Becoming* (2019) and *Basilisk* (2024) showcase his powerful post-punk songwriting.
