Midnight Breakfast presents its first Big Ass Donut (BAD) Cold Read Cabaret of the semester. Participants wear inflatable donuts, select from provided miscellaneous monologues and two-person scenes, and perform the selections in full. The event supports Midnight Breakfast’s goal of fostering a playwriting culture among University of Maryland students, with an emphasis on new-play development in all its forms.

When: Sunday, October 4, 2026

Tickets: Free; no tickets are required.

Venue: Cafritz Foundation Theatre, The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center

Admission: General admission

Format: Cold-read cabaret featuring monologues and two-person scenes

Accessibility: The Clarice offers wheelchair-accessible and size-inclusive seating, large-print programs, assisted-listening devices, adult and child-friendly sensory packs, and quiet spaces. ASL interpretation, audio description, and captioning are available for select events or by patron request at least six weeks in advance.
