MARTY STUART AND HIS FABULOUS SUPERLATIVES
Marty Stuart and his longtime band, The Fabulous Superlatives, bring a wide-ranging country performance to the Birchmere. The set draws on Stuart’s more than five decades in country music, from his work with Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash through his acclaimed solo career, while also featuring material from *Space Junk*, his first full-length double album of original instrumentals.
A five-time GRAMMY Award winner, Country Music Hall of Famer, Grand Ole Opry member, and founder of the Congress of Country Music, Stuart is known for combining traditional country with instrumental virtuosity, humor, and showmanship. The performance’s “cosmic cowboy” sound incorporates surf guitar, California rhythms, steel guitar, and fluid interplay among the band members.
