Jenny Tian: Ripe
Jenny Tian returns to DC Improv with *Ripe*, a completely new hour of comedy following her sold-out 2025 debut at the venue. The Australian-Chinese comedian became widely known during the pandemic, building an online following of more than one million and earning appearances at major Australian comedy events, on *Taskmaster AU*, and at international festivals.
Her performance is supported by Washington, D.C., comedian Shelley Kim and Australian comedian Blake Freeman.

About Jenny Tian: Tian is a regular on Sydney’s comedy circuit who gained millions of likes and an online audience exceeding one million during the pandemic. Her first solo show, *Picture This*, sold out across Australia and became a YouTube special with nearly one million views. Her follow-up hour, *Chinese Australian: A Tale of Internet Fame*, also sold out throughout Australia before touring the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s Boulevard Theatre.
Tian has appeared in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Galas. She was a cast member on season two of *Taskmaster AU*, a role that earned her a Logie nomination for Best New Talent. After living in London, she moved to New York and completed a U.S. tour of *Jenny’s Travels*. Deadline named her a stand-up comedian to watch in 2026. She is also in post-production on *Dupermarket*, a web series she stars in and co-wrote with Patrick Golamco, and her third special, *Supreme Mother*, premiered on Veeps in May 2026.
Shelley Kim: Kim is a Washington, D.C.-based comedian, producer, and content creator. Her credits include features in the *Washingtonian*, PBS’s *The Art of Comedy*, and CBS’s *Comedy in the Capital*. The *Washington Post* named her one of the 10 funniest comedians working in Washington, D.C. She has performed with Ramy Youssef, Todd Barry, Dulcé Sloan, Judah Friedlander, Roy Wood Jr., and Jordan Klepper.
Blake Freeman: Freeman is an Australian comedian known for observational material, understated delivery, and concise storytelling. He won Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and was selected for Just For Laughs: New Faces International. Now based in New York City, he performs regularly in the U.S., has toured nationally, and opened for Nate Bargatze during Bargatze’s Australian tour.
