Monumental Consequence - A Rhizome LARP

Monumental Consequence is a live action role-playing game (LARP) that combines improv, theater, physical movement, and crafts, hosted at Rhizome DC. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, participants will become villagers in the occupied town of La Ville, who must decide whether to destroy their centuries-old church to save lives or risk everything to preserve the art inside. Designed for 9 to 40 players, this session uses a game of the same name by Mary Beth Looney, originally developed by Central Michigan University Press and used both for recreational play and as an educational tool in classrooms.
