Bumper Car Squares

Bumper Car Squares is an afternoon of traditional square dancing at Glen Echo Park. The event begins with an introductory lesson suitable for dancers of every experience level, followed by live music from Supertrad! and square dancing led by caller Janine Smith. No previous experience or dance partner is required, and the afternoon is scheduled to finish early.

Showtimes: All-level square dance introduction from 2:45 to 3:00 p.m.; dancing with live music from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Venue: Glen Echo Park’s climate-controlled Ballroom Back Room

Tickets: Discounted advance admission is $12 for adults when purchased online. Advance sales close at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 3. Same-day admission is $15 for adults online or at the door, and $5 for teens at the door only. Admission is free for children ages 12 and under at the door. Same-day payment is accepted by cash, check, or credit card.

Ages: Children ages 12 and under attend free; teen admission is $5 at the door.

What to wear: No special attire is required. Shoes with backs are recommended, and flip-flops are not advised.

Partner policy: You do not need to bring a partner.

Weather note: Dancing takes place indoors in a climate-controlled room, so the event is not affected by outdoor weather.
