Las Migas
Las Migas, an all-female flamenco quartet from Barcelona, brings its distinctive blend of tradition and contemporary influences to Strathmore's Music Center. The group was founded in 2004 by classically trained musicians from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya who shared a passion for Spanish music. Over the years, they have released six albums and earned four Latin Grammy nominations, including two Best Flamenco Album wins for *Libres* (2022) and *Flamencas* (2025). Their sound merges traditional Spanish folk–inspired guitar with pop and hip-hop elements, while also drawing on Cuban rumba and regional Spanish traditions from Seville, Cataluña, La Mancha, and Galicia. The quartet centers a woman's perspective in its songwriting, and their songs of liberation have built an international audience as well as strong ties to Spanish and Latin American LGBTQ+ communities. The current lineup features founding member Marta Robles alongside Paula Rodríguez, Laura Pacios, and Alicia Grillo.
