Fairfax Symphony Orchestra with Itzhak Perlman

The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Christopher Zimmerman, joins the legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman for an evening of film-inspired music titled *Cinema Serenade*. The program, drawn largely from Perlman's 1997 album recorded with composer John Williams, features beloved cinematic themes and also includes Richard Strauss’s iconic tone poem *Also sprach Zarathustra*, immortalized by its use in *2001: A Space Odyssey*. As a 16-time Grammy winner, four-time Emmy winner, and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Perlman brings his celebrated lyricism to this co-presentation between the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and George Mason University's Center for the Arts as part of the Great Performances at Mason season.
