Aga Khan Master Musicians
Washington Performing Arts presents the Aga Khan Master Musicians with French accordionist Vincent Peirani in a concert that brings together musical traditions from Central Asia, China, the Middle East, and contemporary Europe. The performance explores living traditions through an adventurous blend of saxophone, clarinet, qanun, oud, doira percussion, accordion, singing, jazz, contemporary music, and improvisation.
The lineup features Syrian-born saxophonist and clarinetist Basel Rajoub, qanun player Feras Charestan, Turkish oud virtuoso Yurdal Tokcan, Uzbek doira drummer Abbos Kosimov, and award-winning French accordionist, singer, and composer Vincent Peirani. Together, they create an evening of contrasting musical voices and unexpected connections.
