Aga Khan Master Musicians

Aga Khan Master Musicians, presented by Washington Performing Arts, bring together an extraordinary ensemble of artists for a single evening at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue. Five core members of the Aga Khan Master Musicians—a collective devoted to sustaining and reimagining living musical traditions from Central Asia, China, the Middle East, and beyond—are joined by two celebrated French musicians for a concert that promises striking and unexpected harmony across cultures. The lineup features Syrian-born saxophonist and clarinetist Basel Rajoub, qanun player Feras Charestan, Turkish oud master Yurdal Tokcan, Uzbek percussionist Abbos Kosimov, and then special guests Vincent Peirani on accordion and Vincent Ségal on cello. The result is seven distinct voices—spanning jazz, improvisation, classical, and folk traditions—converging in a performance wholly its own.
