BSO - Stravinsky & Prokofiev with Heyward

Jonathon Heyward leads the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in a high-energy concert launching the orchestra’s Classical Series. The program explores the dramatic power of Russian orchestral music, pairing Igor Stravinsky’s vivid writing with Sergei Prokofiev’s technically demanding Piano Concerto No. 3.

Pianist Bruce Liu, who gained international recognition after winning the 2021 Chopin International Piano Competition, joins the orchestra for Prokofiev’s “devilishly difficult” concerto. The program also features Stravinsky’s *The Firebird: Suite* in its 1919 version and Jonathan Leshnoff’s *Rush*.
