RIOT GRRRL’S NOT DEAD DC! brings an all-ages punk, rock, and riot grrrl-inspired showcase to Songbyrd Music House. The bill features DC happy-punk band Buko Buko, queer Americana trio Ammonite, and Baltimore punk duo Bitter Tits, with performances centered on energetic, expressive music and a communal live-show atmosphere.

Buko Buko draws on Riot Grrrl attitude and playful “mean mommy” energy, turning its shows into colorful, irreverent celebrations built for dancing and moshing. The band’s debut album, *All You Can Eat*, embraces what the Washington Post described as “feral joy to the mosh pit,” with songs ranging from food-themed absurdity to immigrant identity and themes of heritage. Ammonite combines heartland-folk textures with punk intensity, pairing emotionally charged songwriting with dynamic guitar work and vocals from Erin Frisby and Selena Benally. Their queer Americana sound is intended for listeners raised on punk while retaining the spontaneity of a basement show. Bitter Tits is a Baltimore punk duo whose songs draw from personal experience, resilience, and the desire to help audiences forget, remember, get by, and celebrate together.
