This Saturday evening, Rhizome DC hosts a three-act bill that traverses indie rock, neo-psychedelia, and intimate singer-songwriter territory. Headliner Ammonite, a Maryland/DC band, brings a dynamic, genre-bending sound built on intricate songwriting and lush harmonies; they also identify as queer. Santa Fe–based Blackout Transmission, originally formed in Los Angeles, layers UK shoegaze and darkwave influences into their neo-psychedelic rock. Opening the night is Washington, DC’s own Grace A. Keller, a singer-songwriter who is also one quarter of the band hotel sewing kit.
