Unearthing Foundations

Unearthing Foundations is a juried exhibition featuring Latinx and Latine artists during Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibition considers how personal and cultural histories shape the future, even when those influences are not immediately visible. Through explorations of place, family, ritual, and nature, the participating artists reflect on the layers people preserve, inherit, or choose to release.

The exhibition’s themes center on foundations, groundwork, and bedrock, treating them as both physical and metaphorical structures. Rebecca Perez, a Washington, DC-based juror, selected the exhibition.

When: Friday, September 11 through Sunday, November 1, 2026

Schedule: On view during the exhibition period. A public reception is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
