NMAAHC Kids Story Time: Put Your Records On!

Join the National Museum of African American History and Culture for a music‑themed story time celebrating the power of records and song. Designed for families with young children, the event features a reading of Corinne Bailey Rae’s new picture book *Put Your Records On!*, followed by hands‑on activities that let kids explore how music tells stories, soothes, and empowers. Participants will learn to use a real record player, examine favorite albums in the Musical Crossroads exhibit, and create their own album art. The program runs from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm and includes ongoing creative play, two read‑aloud sessions, and two guided children’s gallery tours.

When: Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm.

Showtimes: Read‑alouds occur at 10:45 am and 11:45 am; children’s gallery tours depart at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Creative exploration is available continuously throughout the program.
