CHANEL BEADS

Chanel Beads, the experimental project led by Shane Lavers, performs music from its second album, *Your Day Will Come*. Although it shares a title with the project’s 2024 breakthrough debut, the album is presented as an entirely new body of work rather than a sequel or remake. Its songs combine synthetic sounds and live instruments with fragmented lyrics and genre-resistant arrangements that examine uncertainty, doubt, loss, love, nihilism, and the unstable territory of memory and emotional liminality.

Lavers began making music as Chanel Beads in Seattle in 2016 after growing up in suburban Minnesota. The project’s intimate, unconventional recordings eventually led from house shows and performances in abandoned train tunnels to a supporting slot on Lorde’s North American arena tour. He recorded *Your Day Will Come* in a small Brooklyn studio using an intentionally spontaneous process, beginning recordings before the songs were finished and keeping whatever microphones and performances produced the right feeling.
