CHANEL BEADS

Chanel Beads, the experimental project led by Shane Lavers, performs music from its second album, *Your Day Will Come*. Although the album shares its title with the project’s 2024 breakthrough debut, Lavers describes it as an entirely new work rather than a sequel or remake. The songs explore uncertainty, love and nihilism, liminality, precarious memory, personal loss, and the persistence of old habits through fragmented lyrics and dreamlike arrangements.

Lavers began making music as Chanel Beads in Seattle in 2016 after growing up in suburban Minnesota. He developed the project by combining synthetic sounds with live instruments and deliberately avoiding genre conventions. After moving to New York, the project drew attention for its androgynous vocals, artificial textures, and emotional intimacy, progressing from house and abandoned-tunnel shows to a supporting slot on Lorde’s North American arena tour. Lavers recorded *Your Day Will Come* in a small Brooklyn studio using an intentionally spontaneous process, often recording with whatever microphone was available and shaping songs directly within the recording.
