Lucy (Cooper B. Handy)

LUCY, the performance project of Western Massachusetts singer and producer Cooper B. Handy, brings an experimental, raw, and distinctly DIY sound to Songbyrd Music House. Handy began releasing music as LUCY in 2009 and has built an extensive body of self-released music and videos, often created and shared with little polish and in close to real time.

Known for basement and warehouse performances across the country, LUCY has developed a devoted following on the DIY circuit. The music draws on GarageBand production, sample packs, and synthesizer sounds, combining abrasive textures with eccentric, sincere songwriting and lyrics that express substantial ideas through understated lines.
