ABSTRACT
Capitol Hill Art League presents "ABSTRACT," a juried group exhibition featuring members' artwork that forgoes literal representation in favor of shape, form, line, and color to create effects independent of external reality. The exhibition is juried by Kelly MacConomy, a multidisciplinary artist and arts advocate based in the DC-Maryland-Virginia region. MacConomy holds a BA in fine arts and psychology from Georgetown University and has completed graduate study in fine art, art history, and art education at New York University, George Washington University, and Harvard. Her award-winning work spans painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and fiber art and appears in collections from the DMV to Berlin. The exhibition includes a range of abstract pieces by CHAL members, with awards announced by MacConomy at the opening reception.
