Sarau de Samba: Brazilian Samba Roots Experience

Sarau de Samba is EducArte’s monthly celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture, bringing the communal, energetic traditions of Rio de Janeiro-style samba to Glen Echo Park. Led by Brazilian performers, the event combines live music, dance, audience participation, and a welcoming atmosphere for people of all experience levels.

The program moves through samba’s varied traditions, including Golden Age classics, choro, pagode, and lively carnival rhythms. Attendees can dance, sing, and play instruments alongside the professional musicians and dancers. Each session begins with a beginner dance lesson, and no partner or instrument is required.
