Velveteen, A New Musical

Velveteen, A New Musical is a contemporary, magical adaptation inspired by Margery Williams’s *The Velveteen Rabbit*. The story follows Lulu, who has recently moved in with her Gran and receives a velveteen rabbit like the one her mother once had. As Lulu and the rabbit form a deep bond, the other toys grow jealous, while the rabbit longs to join the “real” rabbits he sees outside the window.

With a visionary set and playful costumes, the production explores change, friendship, jealousy, authenticity, and the transformative power of loving relationships. This thoughtful yet playful retelling examines what it means to become Real and is designed to resonate with multiple generations.
