The Keyboard Trust Concert: Chenyu Wang
The Keyboard Charitable Trust and the Arts Club of Washington present Chinese pianist Chenyu Wang in a classical piano recital. The program spans Bach, Chopin, Scriabin, and Schubert, and is followed by a meet-the-artist reception with an open bar and hors d’oeuvres. The event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Keyboard Trust and the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation.
Wang, a 23-year-old pianist from Zhuhai, China, is studying at Boston’s New England Conservatory with Alexander Korsantia and Alessio Bax. She has performed internationally at venues including Boston’s Jordan Hall, St James’s Piccadilly and Steinway Hall in London, the Wiener Saal of Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, and Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin University of Music concert hall.

Schedule: The bar opens at 6:30 PM. The performance begins at 7:00 PM, followed by the meet-the-artist reception. The event listing gives an overall time of 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Program: J.S. Bach, in Egon Petri’s arrangement of the chorale from the Birthday Cantata in B-flat major, BWV 208; Chopin’s *Barcarolle*, Op. 60; Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 5, Op. 53; and Schubert’s *Drei Klavierstücke*, D. 946.
Tickets: Arts Club members pay $40 per person, charged to their account. Non-member tickets cost $50. The ticket price includes the open bar and reception hors d’oeuvres.
Registration: The event is open to the public. Guests must be registered. Member reservations are made by RSVP, while non-members can purchase tickets online.
Ticket policy: Tickets are non-refundable. Online payments may be canceled for account credit up to 72 hours before the event. Members may cancel their reservations without penalty until the day before the event.
Artist: Chenyu Wang studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Ian Fountain, graduating in June 2024 with a Bachelor of Music degree with First-Class Honours. She received the Edna Bralesford Piano Prize for the highest recital mark of her graduating year and attended the 2024 Aspen Music Festival and School on a full Polonsky Foundation Fellowship.
Artist background: Wang has taken part in the Oxford Piano Festival, Morningside Music Bridge, and the Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum, among other festivals. Her mentors and collaborators have included Arie Vardi, Michel Béroff, Steven Kovacevich, Arnulf von Arnim, Eleanor Wong, Aquiles Delle Vigne, and Sa Chen. From 2014 through 2020, she studied with Tiandong Huang at the Music School attached to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, where she received scholarship and concerto prizes, performed at Guangzhou Steinway Hall, and won first prize in the Xinghai Cup Piano Competition.
