Instrument Petting Zoos with BreezeWood Strings
Instrument Petting Zoos offer children a hands-on introduction to music, with opportunities to try a wide range of instruments alongside experienced student volunteers. The program is hosted by BreezeWood Strings, a student-led initiative of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Capital Youth Outreach Club, and is designed to help young children explore music in an encouraging, interactive setting.
Children can experiment with violin, cello, ukulele, guitar, tongue drum, kalimba, tambourine, and other instruments. The program notes that musical experiences can support developing minds by strengthening connections related to language, memory, and emotional regulation.
