A People’s Choir DC (SING-ALONG)

A People’s Choir DC is a relaxed, communal sing-along rather than a conventional concert or karaoke performance. Participants sing along with the original recordings while lyrics are displayed on music videos; they may stand, sit, dance, sing enthusiastically, or simply listen if they do not know a song. The evening’s theme will be announced later.

The event is based on the original A People’s Choir in Portland, Oregon. No singing experience is required, and there is no sheet music—only song lyrics. The emphasis is on participation and enjoyment rather than musical ability.

When: Thursday, December 3

Showtimes: Doors open at 7:00 PM, with singing beginning at approximately 7:30 PM. The large sliding door leading partway toward the roof is expected to be open around 7:10 PM.

Format: A group sing-along using original recordings with vocals and on-screen lyrics. It is not a staged performance, and karaoke-style instrumental tracks are not used.

Ages: 21 and over
