Nick Hakim brings his soulful, introspective songwriting to Black Cat, with a sound shaped by mysticism, abstract imagery, and a deep belief in music’s transformative power. The New York-based artist performs material from across his catalog, including *Green Twins*, *Will This Make Me Good*, *Cometa*, and *I Can See*, alongside Arima Ederra.

Hakim’s music often explores memory, grief, reality, and the unseen connections between people. His album *I Can See* grew out of recordings made during the pandemic, with sessions split between Sonic Ranch in Texas and his New York apartment. The album reflects an artist adjusting to a changing world while revisiting memories and imagining conversations with loved ones who have died. One example, “Real Here Now,” centers on a house resembling Hakim’s childhood home where absent family members can be encountered again through memory and song.
