Block Party: Celebrate 250 Years of American Art

The National Gallery of Art is hosting its largest-ever public program, a free, daylong block party spanning the West and East Buildings and the 4th Street Plaza, celebrating 250 years of American art and creativity in honor of the United States' semiquincentennial. The event offers indoor and outdoor artmaking, special guests, food, music, curator talks, video screenings, and activities for all ages, rain or shine. Highlights include art talks, a community collage quilt, sound baths, zine-making, kids’ activities such as Storytime and face painting, family yoga, and a visit from the Washington Nationals' Racing Presidents.
