Jason Douglas Griffin presents *Be the Acorn*, a humorous picture book about Choko Choko, a young squirrel who is too small to join the family’s search for a new tree. Left behind and frustrated, Choko Choko learns from Great Haha that even the smallest creatures can have tremendous possibilities and finds a way to help his family.

The event is intended for young children and features Griffin, the book’s author and illustrator. Griffin is an internationally exhibited artist who illustrated Jason Reynolds’s books and received a Caldecott Honor for *Ain’t Burned All the Bright*. He now creates his art in Queens, New York.
