Music From The Sole

4373 Mason Pond Drive, Fairfax, VA
Price not available

Music From The Sole brings a vibrant fusion of tap dance and live music to the George Mason University Center for the Arts as part of the Great Performances at Mason series. Led by Brazilian choreographer Leonardo Sandoval and composer Gregory Richardson, the ensemble breaks down the boundaries between sound and movement, drawing from samba, passinho (Brazilian funk), Afro-Cuban, jazz, and house. As a Mason Artist-in-Residence, the company not only performs but also engages the community through classes and workshops. Their program for this evening includes the piece “I Didn’t Come to Stay,” and the performance will be audio described for accessibility. A pre-performance discussion begins one hour before the show, and free student tickets are available to Mason students on a limited basis.
