Midnight Breakfast BAD

Midnight Breakfast presents its Big Ass Donut (BAD) Cold Read Cabaret, a playful performance in which participants wear inflatable donuts, select from provided miscellaneous monologues and two-person scenes, and perform the pieces in full. The event supports Midnight Breakfast’s goal of fostering a playwriting culture among University of Maryland students, with an emphasis on new-play development in all its forms.

When: Sunday, November 8, 2026.

Showtime: 8:00 p.m.

Venue: Cafritz Foundation Theatre at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Admission: General admission.

Tickets: Free; no tickets are required.

Format: Participants will perform selected monologues and two-person scenes as part of a cold-read cabaret while wearing inflatable donuts.

Accessibility: The venue offers wheelchair-accessible seating, size-inclusive seating, large-print programs, assisted-listening devices, adult and child-friendly sensory packs, and quiet spaces upon request. ASL interpretation, audio description, and captioning are available for select events or by patron request at least six weeks in advance.
