Dominique Bianco Featuring Right Chipper
Dominique Bianco and Right Chipper bring together two complementary musical perspectives in a genre-spanning performance at Blues Alley. Bianco’s jazz-inflected singer-songwriter approach combines with Right Chipper’s modern jazz-rock fusion for an eclectic evening shaped by original songs, expressive vocals, intricate musicianship, improvisation, and collaborative arrangements.
Bianco is recognized for her powerful singing, emotionally direct songwriting, and improvisational ability, with comparisons to Ella Fitzgerald and Yebba. Her distinctions include runner-up in the 2023 Billie Holiday Vocal Competition, a Top 3 finish in the 2022 International Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition, the 2023 Best Jazz Artist Wammie Award, a Strathmore Artist in Residence selection, and finalist status in the 2025 New Song Music Songwriting competition. She has performed at the Kennedy Center, The Cutting Room, Gramercy Theatre, Blues Alley, Keystone Korner, DC9, and Songbyrd. Right Chipper has also appeared throughout the Washington-area music scene and beyond. The group includes Knox Engler of North Carolina, Lucas Kirby of Miami, and Bianco of New York City.
