Aaron Lee Tasjan
Aaron Lee Tasjan performs music from his new album, *Get Over It, Underdog*, an 11-track collection centered on songwriting, friendship, perseverance, and the determination of the underdog. The album grew out of a period when Tasjan questioned his future as an independent artist; advice from his mentor Todd Snider helped him regain his confidence, return to playing solo shows, and write without expectations. Produced by Tasjan and longtime sound engineer Mark Miller, the record ranges from the talking-blues song “Science Friction” to the indie-rock track “Lost & Alone.”
Nashville Americana artist Madeleine Kelson opens the show. A queer artist drawing on folk, country, and Americana, Kelson is known for her storytelling and rich vocals. Her background includes performing with the Chicago band The Kelson Twins, winning the 2017 International Bluegrass Music Association Songwriter Showcase, releasing the EP *Siren* and the album *While I Was Away*, and earning recognition from NPR, No Depression, Spotify editorial playlists, and the Kerrville New Folk songwriting competition. Her EP *Where the Spirit Meets the Muscle* was released in February 2024.
