Leila Abdul-Rauf / Vaelastrasz / Form & Void

Leila Abdul-Rauf, Vaelastrasz, and Form & Void come together for an evening of dark, experimental music at Rhizome DC. Oakland-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Leila Abdul-Rauf creates atmospheric pieces from brass, piano, and layered textures, shaping dreamlike soundscapes marked by melancholy, memory, and an almost cinematic sense of space.

The bill also features Virginia act Vaelastrasz and Washington, D.C.’s Form & Void, whose industrial and EBM-informed sound works at the intersection of noise and rhythm. The event is presented by Ripping Headaches Promotions.
