2-Part Monotype Printmaking Workshop

Sat, Jun 27, 2026 – Sun, Jun 28, 2026at 12:30 PM
3550 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA
Price not available

This two-day workshop at MoCA Arlington introduces participants to the experimental and intuitive process of monotype printmaking. Over two sessions, students learn the basics of applying paint, choosing colors, and generating textures from found objects and plants. The course then covers multiple additive and subtractive techniques, allowing participants to create imagery that is representational, abstract, or a combination of both. Instruction is guided by a focus on experimentation rather than precisely calculated outcomes, emphasizing endless possibilities and surprising results.

Instructor: Olivia Tripp Morrow.

When: Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm each day (two sessions total).

Tuition: $75.00, with supplies included in the cost.

Registration: Registration is completed on Eventbrite.

Location: This in-person workshop is held onsite at MoCA Arlington, 3550 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201.

Health & Safety: The museum asks that participants wear a mask if experiencing cold- or flu-like symptoms (cough, fever, sore throat, congestion). MoCA Arlington can provide a medical mask if needed. Those with worsening symptoms are asked to stay home.

Additional Notes: The workshop is a two-day commitment. Galleries will reopen on Saturday, June 27, though the workshop takes place in the Tiffany Gallery, which continues programming during gallery closures.
